When to Upgrade the e20x Fork or Rear Shock
The standard e20x ships without rear suspension, front end only. The e20x-FS adds air forks and a rear coil-over shock at the factory. Run a standard e20x on anything rougher than a smooth trail, and a rear shock retrofit changes the ride more than any other single upgrade, since the frame is already FS-ready even on the non-FS trim.On the FS model, stock suspension targets an average rider weight for the e20x’s age range. Heavier or more aggressive riders tend to feel the stock fork bottom out on drops or hard braking, which is the signal to look at a stiffer fork rather than a rear shock swap.
